Did I miss something??? (Gil/Sara/S2 question)

Hey all. Newbie here, 2nd official post! Yay me!

So, I'm on S2 now, and I'm confused...in "The Finger", sara was on a date with the blonde guy from work....in the next episode, "Burden of Proof" we see this intense drama between her and Grissom...when did thath appen? I new from hearing bits and pieces here and there on the net, that something goes down between them. But that seemed so random, I felt like I missed something there. Were Grissom and Sara supposed to have had a relationship prior to her coming to work in LV? I thought he said they were friends. I noticed the heavy chemistry in Burden, but didn't notice it before that. And then Cath said something to him, about being burned by her or something....I'm just lost lol Help?
