Community Suggestion
Oct. 21st, 2005 10:59 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I am all in favor of posts being moderated to this community, especially on new episode nights, so people don't get inadvertently spoiled by those who forget cut tags. However, noticing that all of the posts about last night's episode didn't get approved to the community until this morning, which can stifle discussion, I'd like to make a couple of suggestions for a different way to run things.
1. Have the moderator create a single official episode discussion thread shortly before the episode airs in which all episode thoughts and discussion will go. Any other episode posts will not be approved. This prevents a flood of posts appearing on member's flists all at once and it also fosters more in-depth discussion, since everything is in one place. A lot of the larger TV fandom communities have started doing this as a way to cut back on new episode traffic (i.e.
house_md and
supernatural_tv).
2. Have the moderator bring on a couple of additional moderators who will be able to approve posts shortly after the episode airs on the east coast. This way, it takes all of the work off the primary community maintainer and prevents people from getting frustrated when they want to talk about the show but have to wait hours before their posts are approved.
I'm generally in favor of #1 but I also think #2 has merits. I feel that some kind of change may be necessary so members don't get irritated and leave the community because they have to wait to talk about new episodes, when a lot of people are most excited about discussing the episode right after it airs. Moderator? Other members? What do y'all think?
P.S. Since I always get asked about this icon whenever I post to this community, the pixel artwork is by the fabulous
caitlinuga and the icon is shareable but please credit her and not me because I really didn't do a whole lot to it but slap on a border and some text. :)

Just a couple Icons I made from CSI 6x05 - Gum Drops. Mst of them are bleh, but there are a couple I'm fond of, so I'll post all of them. Please comment if you take one, but I don't care about any further credit. ^_^
( I don't think these icons would be considered spoilers, but just in case... )

Does anyone know the name of the episode where Nick gets a gun pointed at him and Grissom has to coax the man out of shooting him? I want to see it, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. Thanks!!!

I've got a small request to make, and I feel awfully rude as this is my first post here. I'll put it under a cut, lest anyone has not seen Grave danger.
( A small request, if you please... )
Many thanks in advance

That website where each episode is written about humorously, is there anything like that for the old ones?
