Hello!

I've been a fan of CSI since its premiere, but I am just now beginning to explore fandom, and I have a few questions.

In fandom, what are the best journals and communities to visit for chat, discussion, and recs of fic and art?

Also, on the show, does Greg ever mention where he's from? I know he attended Stanford, but with numerous and hilarious references to Papa Olaf, it sounds as if he's of Scandinaviam extraction.Several fics have mentioned Wisconsin as his birthplace. Is this canon or educated fanon?
