Spoiler Spaces

There's a discussion on my CSI-talk mailing list about what is a reasonable expectation for spoiler space. We've established a guideline on the list that following the broadcast of a new episode, list members should insert spoiler space so that those of us who watch a few days later, or who live internationally and do not see the new stuff, will not be spoiled.
The discussion is now what is reasonable amount of time to abandon the spoiler space. Some members have suggested a week is more than enough time to use spoiler spaces. I'm of the opinion that we should designate overall spoilers for 30 days after a new episode has aired. After that, the list is free to discuss without limitation.
There is one caveat, however.
In the case of a major spoiler, such as a character death, spoilers should go be used until the season is over. This allows the overseas people to catch up after a good amount of time while not causing unnecessary frustration about episodes that are years old.
So let's look at some examples of this new spoiler strategy. In "Mea Culpa," there are some major shake-ups in that episode, as many of us know (or have possible heard), but we should continue to use spoilers until December 26th. On the other hand, the end of the Paul Milander story, which was resolved in season two, should be well known by now. So it's safe for me to say, Milander was raised as a girl and killed himself. nervous look Right?
Thie proposal is somewhat inconvenient for the mailing list, yes, but I hope it is also considerate compromise to the spoiler discussion. What do you think?
